Michel Martinet was born on the sixth of March 1955 in the village of Les Eyzies in France.

He spent his childhood in the village where he was surrounded by fascinating prehistoric remains including wall paintings which had a great influence on him and begun his interest in art.

He studied in Perigueux, a very old Roman city, which opened his eyes to other artist genres. After specialising in furniture design, in the early 70's Martinet began dividing his time between furniture design, sculpting techniques and paintings. During this period, he shows his work throughout exhibitions in Paris , Bordeaux and in the Province of Dordogne.

In the 80's Martinet decided to go living on the Canary Islands , specifically Tenerife and with the inspiration and support of his dutch wife, he used his free time to produce sculptures and to continue his love of painting.

In the year 2001, Martinet decided to open his studio to the public with his sculptures and abstract paintings.

Again, he starts to do exhibitions throughout Europe .

The studio is open from Monday to Friday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm .
